Skin diseases

Take neem (azadirachta indica) leaves, tulasi (holy basil) leaves, green grass and bhel (aegle marmelos), wash and grind to paste.  Apply on the black areas of the skin.  When dried wash with lukewarm water.

Body pains

Agastya/Vamu tilam:

Take 1 kg. Azwine.  Break it.  Put the same in 4 liters water.  Soak for 48 hrs.  Scrub.  Put on stove.  Reduce it to 1 lit.  Filter by putting in cloth.  Add 1 lit til oil.  Ensure that oil remains. Bring it from stove.  Add to this Black pepper powder 25 gms., Pippallu powder 25 gms. and 50 grams camphor powder.  Mix well. Filter. Keep for one hour.
Apply and message in lukewarm condition to legs 1 hour before going to bed/taking bath..
Improves walking for diabetic people.   Helps blood circulation, numbness, neck pain, back pain,  vatamu in thighs, body pains, foot swelling, knee pains, pikkalu (muscles below knee).

Blood pressure

Blood Pressure: Unprocessed anger, frustration, anxiety, irritability and fear, which leads to hypertension. Treatment: Nutrition, exercise, breathing exercise (Pranayama), yoga, meditation, behavioural modification. Diet: Garlic, lemon, parsley, fruits, Indian gooseberry, grape fruit, water melon, Dairy:Milk, cottage cheese, clarified butter. To avoid: Coffee, which contains caffeine. Limit sodium in the diet. Correct your diet and control your weight. Life style: Avoid mental and physical stress. Relaxation is good.  Exercise improves the body, depletes excess fat, brings lightness of the body. Nurture love and affection. Speak truth, speak gently, do not get annoyed, speaking loudly and rapidly can increase b.p. during conversation. Be cool. Speak softly even if it is an event of extreme displeasure Laughter is the best medicine. High b.p. Dhyanam, Chin mudra. Tulasi (Basil leaves) + karivepaku (curry leaves) + pudina (mint leaves) powder. 1-0-1.  1 hr. before food 1/2 or 1 tsp + water. Reduces fat. - Onion juice 1 tsp + honey 1-0-1, 1 hr before food. Helps hbp and lbp. _ Tender Bottle gourd 150 gms. Make paste. Put in cooker with 1/2 lit. water (2 glasses). After one whistle put it down. Consume. 1 hr. gap for food and water. - Avoid excess salt, tea, pan masala, chilli, pickles, green chilli, pepper, fresh ginger, garlic, new tamarind.  Use dry tamarind flowers powder. - Kichidi - Wheat ravva + moong dal + carrot + beetroot pieces + jeera + Dhaniya (fenugreek) + aakupatri (bay leaf) + cow ghee/til oil.  Beera kaya (Ridge gourd), sora kaya, bottle gourd, snake gourd, sambaar gourd, tomato.  Kismiss, black grapes, apple, pomogranate, juices. - Put feet in cold water.

Thought of the day

Walking is like filling the car tank when it comes to reserve.

Walking is an exercise

It is also like the maintenance we do to our cars.

Absence and presence are a part of life.  Take it easy brother.

Hit the rod when it is hot.  Eat the food when it is hot.

From an Agarbatti packet of 100 sticks, if we use one per day, the sticks will last for 100 days.  But if we use 2 per day, they will last for 50 days. Depending on the usage, the sticks will last.  But in the case of  body, walking and yoga asanas will recoup the last energy.

A walking friend told: He was taking insulin injections..He has started taking Bitter gourd juice.  Now he is neither taking insulin nor he is taking high doses of medicine.  Only one tablet in a day he is taking.  Of course, he is a regular walker and he also does some small exercises.  He told he was putting salt in the juice.  I told him salt is sugar.  When he is not at  insulin stage, he can take a juice of bitter gourd + tomato + cucumber.  For taste, if he wants, he can add 2-3 mint leaves while grinding.

I am happy today because I am here (in Sri Satya Sai Super Speciality Hospital) doing as Seva Dal).  Yesterday I was not happy because I was not here (SSSSSH).

Prostate gland enlargement


Prostate Gland Enlargement:

Generally it comes after 60 years of age.

Causes: Cold climate. fasting, heavy exercise, tension, low pressure.  Interference with passage of urine.  Avoiding urination in night time.

Symptoms: Drops fall,  feeling of  bladder not cleared completely.  Frequent getting up in night for urination, uncontrolled urination, hereditary.

Take Vaata pacifying foods: sweet, sour, salty tastes and warm and moderately oily foods. wheat, rice and green lentils (moong dal), beets, cucumber, carrots, broccoli, asparagus. pumpkin, green beans, sweet potato.

Grapes, cherries, melons, avocado, coconut, peaches, papaya, pomegranate, mangoes, oranges, pineapple, plums, coconut water, cardamom (helps reduce pain), cumin, ginger, cinnamon, salt, cloves, black pepper.

Avoid Vaata aggravating foods - Dry, cold, hot, spicy, salty, bitter and astringent, and light foods and bitter and astringent and pungent tastes. Solid foods, fried food.

No hurried eating, No water intake while taking food.

Can take Pumpkin seeds, ground nuts, til dal, badam, cashew, carrot+spinach juice, phulkas, green leafy vegetables, milk, sprouts.  Carrot juice 4 ounces every morning Baba Ramdev.  3-5 litres of water in whole day.  Morning 2 glasses of lukewarm water - Dr. Chirumamilli Murali Manohar.

Pumpkin seeds help reduce prostate swelling and thus pressure against hernia.

Take plenty of water during day.  At night stop taking water two hours before going to bed.

Reduce intake of barley, corn, millet, buckwheat, rye and oats.

Avoid excess sugar and molasses, bell peppers, cabbage, tomatoes, onions, garlic and radish to reduce pitta.

Avoid citric and sour fruits, coffee, black tea,.

Life style: Stay hydrated, maintain a healthy weight.  Avoid constipation.  Do no hold urge to urinate, manage stress and remain happy, practice good hygiene,, try sitz bath.

Yoga

Consult Doctor in case of stoppage of urine, pain, fever, blood in urine.
